Looking after your wellbeing, and why golf courses could be a safe place to be
Covid-19 and why golf courses could be a safe place to be
In this uncertain time, we want to reassure our customers and members that we're taking extra steps to ensure your health and safety. We have amended our cleaning procedures and increased sanitation of door handles and equipment.
On the positive side, there are even more reasons to continue to play golf:
- physical activity and exercise can help boost immune function
- exercise lowers stress
- physical activity is good for metabolic health
- sunlight and other environmental conditions can 'kill viruses like this' (Dr Catherine Troisi, an infectious disease epidemiologist at the University of Texas Health Science Center)
There are a few things for you to consider too...
- Wear your glove even while putting
- Use your gloved hand to pick the ball from the hole
- Use your gloved hand to hold the rake
- Leave the pin in
- And of course, please wash your hands for the recommended 20 seconds before and after your round
Have a read of Martin Dempster's article 'Why a golf course is one of the safest places at the moment'.
We wish you all good health.
